Are you wondering what World Kids Day is and how it started?
When I was five I thought there is a Mother's Day for moms and Father's Day for dads, but no special day for kids! I started World Kids Day as a day where kids get to to decide what things they want to do on that day. It's like Mother's Day and Father's Day, but for kids.
A lot of grown ups think that everyday is kids day. But that is not true. Everyday is not kids day because as kids we are told what to do, where we are going, we have to do our chores, do this and that with no control. World Kids Day is the chance for us kids to decide what we get to do all day! Just be kids and have some family fun!
World Kids Day was started in 2011 and is held on the last Sunday of August every year. For the year 2017, it will be held on Sunday August 27, 2017 and for 2018 it will be held on August 26, 2018 and then August 25, 2019 for 2019. Plan ahead and think about what you'll do.
For those of us lucky enough, we have a fun day on World Kids Day. For the 3rd annual World Kids Day, I chose what to have for breakfast, I created this web page, and had a friend over and ran through the sprinkler. For the 2nd annual World Kids Day my family went bowling.
